HOW TO RIDE FAIRWAY BIKES

Load Your Golf Clubs and climb aboard

Place the golf bag on the front bag rack and secure it with the strap. Load only one bag of clubs per bike.

With the bike on a level surface and the parking brake set (see below), find a position on the seat where your feet reach both pedals and you can comfortably reach the handlebar and brakes. Tip: if you’re having trouble reaching the pedals, sit further forward on the seat, and if you’re on the taller side, sit further back on the seat - no adjustments necessary!

Turn on the power

If the display is not already turned on, locate the power button on the back of the display. Press the button for approximately 2 seconds until the display turns on.

Adjust the Pedal Assist

Locate the up and down buttons on the front of the display. These buttons control the pedal assist setting, which can be adjusted from 0 (no assist) to 5 (maximum assist) by pressing the up (top) and down (bottom) buttons.

Typically, it’s more enjoyable to use a lower setting (1-3) on flat terrain, and a higher setting (4-5) when traveling uphill.

The pedal assist activates shortly after you begin pedaling, and disengages when you stop pedaling or reach the 12 mph speed limit.

Use the Throttle

The throttle is located next to the grip on the right handlebar. To accelerate using the throttle, press down slowly and carefully with your thumb. The throttle can be used to accelerate without pedaling, to get some extra power while going uphill, or to get the bike moving before you start pedaling.

To disengage the throttle, simply remove your thumb from the lever so that it returns to its original position. Do not use the throttle unless you’re on the bike.

Set and Release the Parking Brake

When stopping to dismount the bike, it’s important to set the parking brake so the bike doesn’t roll away. To set the parking brake, pull the brake lever and press the silver pin on the brake handle until it is in the down position. If the pin is properly set, the brake lever (and bike) should not move when you remove your hand.

Squeeze the brake lever to release the parking brake before moving. If the bike has difficulty accelerating while riding, check to ensure the parking brakes have been released.

USE the Brakes to control your speed

Pull the lever located on the right handlebar to apply the brake. When traveling downhill, keep your fingers on the brake lever to control speed (please stay below 12 mph) and gently squeeze the brake to avoid skidding or sudden stops.

Have Fun and Ride safely

The bike is designed to be stable and safe (and fun) in most situations on the course. It can take a few minutes to get used to the steering and mobility if you haven’t ridden a 3-wheeled vehicle before, so start off slow, and avoid riding along the sides of steep hills. Keep your speed below 12 MPH, observe all posted signs, and be extra careful on wet surfaces and downhill slopes where breaking may be less effective. Only one rider at a time on a bike. For golfers over 16 years old,  5’ to 6’4” tall, and under 300lbs.
